RECAP of The Greatest Salesman in the World
This short fable is about a man named Hafid who is known as the The Greatest Salesman in the World.
It begins with Hafid disposing of all his inventory and only keeping enough of the profits to live his life to the end. What remained was to be given to the poor.
Hafid had started out in his young life a mere camel boy to his adoptive father, Pathros, who at that time was known to be the greatest salesman throughout world and very wealthy.
Hafid had stood by most of his young life watching the other salesman bring back goods and talents to Pathros and so wanted to be more than just a camel boy.
He wanted to be wealthy and be able to provide for his future family with the finest of worldly goods and give the rest to the needy.
In retrospect that sounds like a magnificent plan, however as Pathros advises Hafid wealth should never be the goal in ones life.
Pathros explains to Hafid that “true wealth comes from the heart, not the purse.”
Pathros after explaining to Hafid the true meaning of wealth decides to give Hafid a chance to prove himself as a salesman.
There are many trials and tribulations Hafid endures and a sign from God before Pathros turns over the 10 Scrolls that he was given so many years ago that made him the Greatest Salesman in the World.
These scrolls are only passed on to someone who is worthy to receive them and will study them and use them wisely.
The Scrolls Inside the Chest
There were 10 scrolls inside the chest, each with their own message.
The Scroll Marked I – Today I begin a new life.
In this scroll you understand the importance of making today the best day of the rest of your life, and changing your habits by taking 100 percent of the responsibility for your life, in other words, getting rid of the victim mentality. It also sets forth the instructions of reading each scroll three times a day for 30 days.
The Scroll Marked II – I will greet this day with love in my heart.
Explains that Love is the greatest secret of success in all ventures and that you should always stay positive and find the good in everyone.
The Scroll Marked III – I will persist until I succeed
You are reminded that you were not brought into “this world in defeat, nor does failure course in your veins.”
It talks about the “never giving up attitude” that successful people have and about having a plan, setting it up and never giving up.
The Scroll Marked IV – I am nature’s miracle
Is reminder that you are nature’s greatest miracle.
There is no other person on earth like you.
You are one of a kind.
You are unique.
The Scroll Marked V – I will live this day as if it were my last
Is a reminder to live everyday as if it were your last on earth.
To cherish every day you have on this earth.
To give thanks that you were given another day.
The Scroll Marked IV – Today I will master my emotions
The Scroll Marked VII – I will laugh at the world
Did you know that the human race is the only living creature on earth who can laugh, and laugh we should. Life is way too short to take it seriously!
This scroll teaches us how to laugh at ourselves, be optimistic, happy and never take yourself seriously.
The Scroll Marked VIII – Today I will multiply my value a hundredfold
This scroll is a reminder that to have wealth you must bring value to the marketplace.
If you want wealth you must provide value!
The Scroll Marked IX – I will act now
This scroll reminds us to never put off until tomorrow that can be done today.
The Scroll Marked X – I will pray for guidance
Never ask the Universe, God or whoever you pray to for materialistic things. Always ask for guidance instead. The rest will come.
I absolutely loved this book. It is definitely one I will keep near me and re-read many times over.
It is full of reminders on how to be the best person you can be and that once you master these simple principles in the book, you will be The Master of Your Destiny!
“The beggar thinks only of his next meal and I think of my next meal as my last. No son, do not aspire for wealth and labor not only to be rich. Strive instead for happiness, to be loved and to love, and most important, to acquire peace of mind and serenity.”
Do what you love, give love and receive love with a peaceful heart and mind.
